Suspension of Adler imports ‘disappointing’, says Senator McKenzie

Victorian Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie has spoken out against the decision to suspend the importation of the Adler A110 lever-action shotgun, without consulting industry representatives or recreational and sporting shooters.

Labelling the decision “disappointing”, Senator McKenzie told The Weekly Times there was “a serious lack of engagement” with shooters and urged the government to give the firearms industry and shooting groups “a seat at the table”.

“At the moment shooters are locked out of the formal decision-making process,” she said.

“They need a seat at the table and an opportunity to have their say on decisions that impact their industry, sport and legitimate recreational pursuits.”
