Exhibitions Group’s finances off target

It has finally been revealed that Exhibitions Group, the company contracted by SSAA to put on its SSAA SHOT Expos in the past, has folded with creditors claiming to be owed more than $1,250,000.

Liquidators O’Brien Palmer wrote to creditors advising them that significant amounts appear to be owed to SSAA states, other businesses in the firearms industry, display organisers, transport companies, the Australian Tax Office and even American Express.

Exhibitions Group sole director Michael Nissen has told the liquidators that a disagreement with ‘previous shareholders’, which the SSAA believes to be his father, was one of the reasons for the failure of the company. He also blamed a ‘dispute’ with the SSAA for contributing to the company’s failure. While liquidators O’Brien Palmer continue their investigation into Exhibitions Group’s financial woes SSAA has contracted Level Up Events and its director Michael Allendorf to organize the Melbourne SSAA SHOT Expo on October 19 and 20 this year. The original May date has been cancelled.
