SSAA is your genuine reason!

A message from SSAA National CEO Tim Bannister

SSAA National is continuing to work through the challenges of COVID-19 and its state members continue to work on your behalf to ensure your freedom. There have been some practical steps taken to ensure members’ renewals continue to be processed and questions answered. Please contact the Membership office by email if you can, rather than by phone, on [email protected] as there have been reports of phone lines jamming. Some members also reported they have, in the current hectic and challenging climate, forgotten to renew and have sought reassurance they can still update their membership. Staff will process all renewals but please be patient.

Similarly, the SSAA Online Shop continues to operate and orders can be made and SSAA official merchandise will be shipped to your door.

SSAA Online Gun Sales also continues to operate. Of course, all transactions must be done in accordance with state laws and remember, if you’re a SSAA member you can list items at half the price of a non-member.

SSAA General Insurance Brokers are still up and running. Talk to your usual broker or call them on (08) 8332 0281 for all your insurance needs. Of course the SSAA Members Firearms Insurance, $35 for up to $25,000 worth of firearms, remains in place.

Some SSAA staff at our various offices are working from home while others are on a roster system. Disease spread reduction measures have been implemented and we’re pleased to report at this time that no SSAA National staff have the flu-like virus. We’re very proud of our staff and assure you they’re just as committed now to serving you, the SSAA community, as they were pre-pandemic.

To protect the Association, our Accounts and Management departments are investigating access to the various Federal Government financial assistance packages while we have taken immediate steps to cut costs. Until further notice, the Australian Women’s Shooter and Australian Junior Shooter will be published electronically, while the 2020 edition of the Comprehensive Guide to Shooting and Hunting will be postponed until next year. If commercial advertising in the Australian Shooter magazine reduces, we will cut pagination accordingly but will continue to bring you the same great stories and reviews every month. Reduced printing costs have been negotiated and postage will also drop.

Finally, keep following our media online and in our magazines for the latest SSAA news. Be safe, be healthy and watch out for your fellow members.
