SSAA SHOT EXPO 2021 CANCELLED

The widespread effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are ongoing. As a result of government restrictions, events have been postponed and cancelled across Australia to contain the spread of the virus for the safety of all.

SSAA NSW and SSAA National value the safety of our members, volunteers and staff above all else and have previously communicated the postponement of the 2020 SSAA SHOT Expo at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in Sydney.

With the lack of certainty around a solution for the virus, as well as the ongoing advice from government and NSW Health and in conjunction with SSAA National and the promoter of the event, it is with regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2021 SSAA SHOT Expo.

With no foreseeable resolution to the pandemic, some state borders still closed and no guarantee that the government will allow an event to go ahead with 20,000 people in one venue, we cannot predict when we could reinstate plans for the next SSAA SHOT Expo.

The cost to stage the SSAA SHOT Expo is in the range of $500,000 to $600,000. SSAA NSW and SSAA National take the management of the Association’s and members' funds seriously and making this decision now avoids significant financial loss due to a last-minute cancellation.

We thank our members and industry partners for their patience and understanding as we manage the impact of this pandemic on the SSAA SHOT Expo and our Association as a whole. Although this is not the outcome anyone wanted, we will use this time to work towards a bigger and better SSAA SHOT Expo in the future
