Ramada Suites Zen Quarter’s tempting deal for Darwin wet season hunters

Hunters on the lookout for an offbeat adventure should do themselves a favour by scanning an attractive accommodation deal on offer in the Northern Territory throughout the month of November. The Ramada Suites Zen Quarter is rolling out the red carpet to any SSAA recreational visitors who want to experience the wet season in the rugged Top End. The hotel is committed to taking 10 per cent off the best available rates for those wishing to stay at Zen and receive usage of the Mud Crab – a private waterfront lodge.

Among the amenities at the Mud Crab are space for large vehicles, secure storage for equipment, safe pet and cleaning areas, a cool room as well as a cryovacing facility. The units themselves are a mere 550m from the main mall of Darwin’s CBD and with easy access to the city’s nightlife, waterfront, shops and restaurants.

The Mud Crab option coincides with a perfect time of year to visit the Top End as the wildfowl season is in full swing. This form of hunting, with magpie geese and grey teal among the desired targets, runs from October 1 until December 23, 2016 – covering a total of 12 weeks. A permit is required and there are strict conditions attached to the times you are allowed to hunt and also to the bag limits for the birds.

Waterfowl can be taken between the hours of 5.45am to 7.15pm in November and 5.45am to 7.30pm in December. The bag quota is set at seven birds per person for magpie geese per day. For other listed waterfowl, the daily bag limit is 10 birds per person. Other species that attract hunters to the Territory region are the Pacific black duck, hardhead duck, maned duck, wandering whistling duck and pink-eared duck.

As well as hunting, a stay at the enticing Mud Crab venue would open the door to a vast assortment of activities and attractions for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. The wetlands are home to countless varieties of birdlife in the billabongs. Fishers could also take advantage of the seasonal conditions. And on the viewing agenda out in the vast wild expanses are crocodiles, buffaloes and kangaroos.

“We hope as many hunters as possible will take advantage of this great opportunity,” said Samantha Lelekis, business development manager at the Ramada Suites Zen Quarter. “The Top End in the wet season can be a spectacular setting.”

The spacious, fully self-contained apartments all boast complementary parking spots that can cater for high-set or long vehicles. Guests can also avail themselves of free high-speed internet, along with full Foxtel channels. Other facilities include an on-site air-conditioned gym plus a 28m saltwater pool.

The Mud Crab special offer is only available to SSAA members via direct bookings. For more information or to check available dates, view the online form or phone the Ramada Suites Zen Quarter directly on 08 7912 5212.
