Attention, world – Targeting 100 million legitimate firearm owners won’t stop crime

The SSAA has thrown its support behind a speech made by the World Forum on Shooting Activities (WSFA) at an Arms Trade Treaty meeting in Geneva earlier this month. The SSAA is a member of the WFSA and regularly participates in international discussions regarding firearms.

In the speech, WFSA President Torbjörn Lindskog made it clear that legitimate firearm owners are not to blame for criminal misuse of guns. “The Arms Trade Treaty will be used as a vehicle to infringe upon the lawful production, trade, and use of firearms by the 100 million members WFSA represents instead of the harder task of focusing on criminals involved in illegal trade,” he said.
