Cricket Australia responds to SSAA’s petition concerns

Following the offensive decision by Cricket Australia to sign a highly emotive petition regarding Australia’s gun laws in April 2016, the SSAA wrote to the peak sporting body to voice our disappointment in what was seen as an affront to a fellow sporting group.

Cricket Australia has now replied to our letter acknowledging our concerns, stating that the petition and the decision by the group to support it “is not a condemnation of legal gun ownership nor a denunciation of your members and licenced firearm owners”.

SSAA National wrote to the Richmond Football Club who also signed the petition, but we are yet to receive a response.
