SSAA has say on Customs firearms importation regulations
SSAA National submitted a series of consultation papers to the Attorney-General’s Department regarding proposed amendments to the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956 first announced in September 2010. These regulations relate to the importation of firearms, firearm accessories, firearm parts, firearms magazines, ammunition and components of ammunition (Regulation 4F and Schedule 6).
The SSAA proposed a number of amendments to Regulation 4F and Schedule 6. Our comments were intended to be practical, with community safety and the interests of legal firearms owners and the industry that serves them, in mind.
